God I love you more and more. That was a really really good one. (Also - all the freaks you showed just look so scary crazy ugly to my eye. Except Oprah I guess - who literally does look younger and better than when she had her show! That’s SO FREAKY!!)
Thank you, Graham. I think Oprah looks younger because she’s a great deal thinner now than she used to be. Corpulence does tend to read as middle age no matter what age you actually are corpulent. I just think it’s sad that anyone at that age would be so concerned with their looks. If the years teach us nothing, what was the point of living them?
This whole narcissus/narcissistic demon (you’d probably know the name of that particular beast if there is one) feels kinda like the other side of the Wendigo demon - one consumes endlessly (crazy metabolism), the other freezes and staves off transformation (no metabolism). But they’re both kinda the same energy and they feel like they go together (like an inverted sick/twisted yin-yang). And they’re both SO UBIQUITOUS in our society at this point. Out on the streets it looks and feels like it is almost all wendigo and this other narcissus one at this point.
I am planning an essay about acedia, which was a type of soul sickness identified in the middle ages that includes lethargy, ennui, and laziness. If there is an opposite Wendigo of the go-getter, it is probably acedia.
At first I thought Demi was Michael Jackson!
Egads! Now I see it and I cannot unsee it... LOL
