Great question. Of course I could be wrong, but I believe the demonic is denser than the material world. Meaning when we look at the world's densest substances such as uranium, lead, and crude oil, they are demonic by nature because they are heavy. Demonic heaven is basically the material world. I talk about it a bit here: https://kimberlysteele.dreamwidth.org/59610.html I am actually writing an essay (to be published today or tomorrow sometime) trying to explain the planes of existence. Even demons exist on all planes at once as do the rest of us and the whole world, it's more of a question of where they are truly powerful. For demons, they are not at all powerful in the subtle realm of the Divine but they have a lot of sway manipulating the lower astral and the etheric. On the material plane, they are doing quite well right now as I attempt to explain in the linked essay.
I totally get what you mean when you compare listening to live music vs. recorded. I've felt something similar while at the movie theater vs. watching a movie at home - it's like I'm picking up the energy of the rest of the people there.
