I remember shiny antique fire trucks in small town 4th of July parades and Roman candle fights when I was a kid. When people from other countries look down at us in disgust it makes me grateful that I got to experience growing up a barbarian. Civilization has benefits but it also extracts a terrible price.
We used to dance the polka — in my case, very badly. We threw metal darts that were basically weapons. I also remember jumping off a shed, climbing huge trees, and scaling extremely sketchy sand dunes. It was this kind of experience that gave me the tools I needed NOT to become yet another swatch of backstabbing office plankton.

Did you intentionally write "Derp" state instead of "Deep"? I like it!
I'm also in the Midwest, and was marveling at the pink reflections off the clouds at sunset today. We are blessed.
LOL yes! It was intentional, but I did not invent that turn of phrase. I saw it somewhere and thought it was genius.
I agree! Trump-level mockery!
Have you heard the new viral Trump quote song? I giggle every time… https://www.tiktok.com/@kishabri/video/7430612588418911531
